The common welding methods for automotive parts mainly include the following:

Resistance spot welding

The most widely used welding method is to locally heat and melt the metal through electric current to form welding points, which is suitable for lap welding of thin sheet parts of car body frames (such as doors, roofs, and side panels) and has the characteristics of high efficiency and low cost.

Gas shielded welding (CO2 shielded welding, MIG welding)

Commonly used for connecting larger structural components such as frames and suspension systems, with high welding strength, adaptable to various materials, and flexible operation.

Laser welding (brazing)

Used for components with high precision and strength requirements, such as body panel splicing, roof and side panel connection, with a small heat affected zone and beautiful welds, but at a higher cost.

arc welding

Mainly used for repairing car body panels or connecting complex parts of non load bearing car bodies.

Self flushing handcuff connection (SPR process)

Without the need for pre drilling, rivets can directly penetrate the upper layer of the board and form an interlocking structure, suitable for connecting complex structural components.

Stud welding

Used for workstations with high beat requirements or difficult to reach welding positions, such as connecting battery fixing blocks, seat belt fixing blocks, and other components.

brazing

Using brazing material to fill the gap between the joint surfaces to form a firm connection, suitable for welding complex structural components such as copper radiators and aluminum radiators.

friction welding

Solid state connection is achieved through frictional heating, commonly used for welding lightweight components such as aluminum alloy battery pack boxes.
